Bachelor of Information Technology/Bachelor of Law '16

“My favourite class has been the Computing Group Project, also known as TechLauncher. In this yearlong program, I had the opportunity to work on a start-up project with five other students and developed an iPhone iOS app that allows drivers in a convoy to share their real time locations. The aim of this project was to solve the problem of convoy drivers being separated by traffic and having to call one another, which is both dangerous and inconvenient.

This program is really eye opening. It made me realise that being innovative is not a talent, but a habit or a mindset that you can gain. I have learnt a great deal about leadership, teamwork and project development in general. I have become more comfortable with networking, pitching my ideas and bouncing back after failures. This course is like a customised toolbox. You unpack it bit by bit as you go through. Whatever you end up having in your toolbox, you’ll find useful in the many years ahead.

When I graduate I have no idea what I will do, mostly because there are so many opportunities open to me. However, because there are so many opportunities, I have the freedom to choose a path that I am most passionate about."
