Description

Gas hydrate science is potential in carbon capture, gas transport and energy storage. The formation kinetics of gas hydrate formation can be promoted by enhancing the mass transfer between gas and water which are the main reactants in gas hydrate formation. Dispersing water into particles is an effective method as it will greatly enlarge water and gas contacting surface and scatter formed hydrates in particles without a long distance for gas to travel through hydrates. In this project we propose the use of different porous hydrogel particle to work with water to host the formation and study the influencing factors.
